Grocer and Grind Sanur Bali

It's been a long time since my last food related post. I live near Sanur area in Bali so I often go there rather than crowded Kuta or Seminyak. Grocer and Grind is quiet famous for breakfast in Seminyak, so when they has one in Sanur, I decided to try.

They have a quiet nice outdoor space but I forgot to take a photo from the outside since I wanted to do it afterwards. But, never mind.. next time, just remember to take the photo first before going in otherwise it won't happen especially when tummy is already full.

I like the interior inside, especially the wall with mural. It works as point of interest in a homey cafe place giving it a nice and unique touch.

It's indoor area, but they didn't close the glass door, they didn't even turn on the AC! Come on, it's not that cold, still hot and there are around 4-5 AC which was OFF.

Anyway, beside that, the ambience is warm and homey. I like the chair's design and the room is spacious.

Mixed Berry Smoothie

The drink was delicious. Big glass with real fruit berries inside. I like it.

Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs

The food was just okay. It's too salty. They put the meatballs under the spaghetti not on the top of it, I don't know why. It's a bit overcooked for my liking. Not really recommended.

Lemon Meringue Pie

The pie was delicious. The right amount of sour and sweet. The shape's beautiful. I can taste the lemon under the fluffy whipped cream. Yum!

Pear Almond Pie

I'm not sure what to say. I love the pear and almond taste. It's sweet but not too sweet. The downside was the crust, it's too hard.

Soo.... I went back another morning to try the sweet breakfast menu

The drink.. Truly forgot the name, but this one is a mix between pineapple and lime soda with mint leaves. Super refreshing! Not too sweet, nice combination. Really feel like summer.

Ricotta pancake with strawberries and banana

The hotcake was a mistake! It's nice in presentation but.... it's too thick and not fluffy. Just a big NO! I'm very disappointed with this one. I had a hard time chewing it. The good thing is the maple syrup. Yup.. I'd rather choose Flapjack for pancake.

It's 2 layers of small pancake but really made me full because it's too thick. -_-

Overall,

I'm not sure will be coming back again. Even though I will maybe I'll try the pizza or another breakfast menu like egg benedicts.

The ambience is nice to hang out, they have wifi and the place isn't crowded so it's a nice place to chat and meeting friends.
