If you have read my post about my Hong Kong trip last May, I promise to make separate post for Disneyland. Here we go..
I visited Disneyland last Summer on May, it was super humid and hot. I was exhausted most of the time, especially for outdoor attraction. It was super nice when we went into the shops, restaurants and indoor attractions to just cooling down. Some says that the time to visit Disneyland is better in a cooler month around February or winter time around November. May is hottest, but July and August is the hottest and the most crowd.
Hong Kong Diseyland is located in Lantau Island (part of Hong Kong, near the airport), it is easily reached by MTR. Went with Tung Chung Line and then interchange to Sunny Bay Stations (Special MTR for HK Disneyland with Mickey shaped window and figures).

For now, Hong Kong Disneyland is divided into 7 areas:
- Advantureland
- Fantasyland
- Grizzly Gulch
- Main Street, USA
- Mystic Point
- Tomorrowland
- Toy Story Land
Main Street, USA

Main Street USA, Hong Kong Disneyland
Hollywood look a like? It's the Main Street, USA area. Most of them are fake stores but the decoration is so cute. This is where the parade happens every night. There's no ride here, but it's a fun place to see. I love the Art of Animation, it's like a museum where we can see how the animation is made from the beginning. It's wonderful to see the early stage of the real Disney.
There's also Animation Academy where we can learn to draw Disney character. Unfortunately, it's only available in Cantonese, not English >_<.
You can ride the Main Street Vehicles (like open mini bus) to go around the Disneyland but we chose to walk and take a see of everything because it's only reach limited places. The Dineyland Railroad (train) is closed, I really want to ride it because you can see everything from the train without walking, it's a huge place you know.
Fantasyland

It's a small world, Fantasyland
Most of the rides here are for children, like Cinderella Carousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Disneyland Railroad (but it's closed at that time), Mad Hatter Tea Cups. We didn't ride them all because hmmm we think we're too old for that, and it's super full, no time to ride them all.
I rode the slow ride, The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, it's an indoor ride, seeing Pooh and the friends. It's so turn back time because Pooh is one of my favorite cartoon from my childhood.
Mickey's Phillarmagic is the most attractive one here. It's a 3D music show starring Donald Duck in a spectacular concert hall. Amazing how we see the classic Disney meets the 3D tech. It's cute, fun and loud! ^_^

Lilo and Stitch, Golden Mickey Show, Fantasyland
Golden Mickey Show is the best show (beside The Lion King, which is really great too). It's performed at the Storybook Theatre, Fantasyland. I heard this was ended on July, too bad. The story was started with Mickey family (Minnie, Donald, Goofy) came in and read the nomination for Disney's character, I think (a bit forget, sorry :*). I love Stitch, bought the mug as souvenir, but this Sticth wasn't really look like him. Lol

Little Mermaid, Golden Mickey Show, Fantasyland
Little Mermaid is also one of my favorite classic Disney story. This is when you see Little Mermaid but not so little anymore. ;). She's flying here, not swimming..

Beauty and the Beast, Golden Mickey Show, Fantasyland

When the beast turned into the prince. It was so fast and smooth. This is my first time watching musical theatre and love it so much.

When the show ended, every character came out and sang together. Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (the almost forgotten Disney character), Toy Story, and others were all there. Epic!
Advantureland

Rafts to Tarzan's Treehouse, Advantureland
Tarzan! I love the story. Although it's a classic one, but it's so nice remembering the childhood time. There's Tarzan's house in the middle of the river, and to reach the house, we need to ride the raft. How awesome. The raft, however, is a big flat square raft and the staffs operate it every few minutes while waiting for the queue to be full.
The other ride is Jungle River Cruise, it's a boat where you can see captured in the photo above (near the leaves at the bottom >_< ). We didn't manage to ride that boat because it had a long queue and we wanted to watch the Lion King.

Tarzan's Tree House, Advantureland
It's a big tree house with many Tarzan's memories inside from the baby, being kept by the Gorilla, and finally grew up and met Jane and had his own family. So full of details. Hi Tarzan!

Festival of The Lion King, The Circle of Life, Advantureland
It's one of the best show I've ever seen. It's so awesome and epic. If you love The Lion King, you have to watch this. It's retelling the story about Simba. The best song "Hakuna Matata" and other songs was so beautifully performed.

It looks like a parade, so colorful and very 'Lion King', you see all the good characters in the original form here. The singing's awesome and the technique, detail, everything's great. There's also a bit of circus acrobatic at the end of the show, it completed the whole show.
Toy Story Land
![]() |
Toy Story Land
It's a new area, not much you can see here, there are many toys around, and Woody! I love Toy Story movies, it's like every children's dream seeing their toys become alive.
RC Racer, Toy Story Land
Do you see me? I was on the back side waiving my hand. It's a cute ride going back and forward, a bit slow for me, and it's not too high because children can ride that RC Racer, too.
Beside that, there are 2 other rides, Slinky Dog Spin (mini roller coaster for children) and Toy Soldier Parachute Drop (joining the toy soldier skydiving going up and down). I'm not too interested in it and a bit tired because it's super hot.. Phew...
Tomorrowland
I only went to the Space Mountain ride and Stitch Encounter because the other like Autopia (racing car for kids) and Orbitron (spinning ride) are mostly filled with children.
Space Mountain is an indoor ride, it's dark but full of light like we dive into the space watching stars and planets. Awesome indoor roller coaster! Love it.
Stitch Encounter is an interactive show. Watch out for the time and the language! Chinese, Cantonese, English, they all have different time, so make sure we arrive at the right time. We went into a small theatre room, watching Stitch cartoon but he's so smart because he talk to us and we talk back. It's so smart. So funny.
Sorry, there's no photo because all of them are indoor.
We went to lunch at the restaurant at this area, it was so full of hungry people at lunch that day. We bought fast food like chicken with rice. It was so so, not yummy, and very expensive, almost IDR 100,000/person. The Disney thing was my rice shaped like Mickey's head. Lol..
Grizzly Gulch
Only one ride here, Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, but it's fun and worth to ride. Dash in and out the twisting caverns and rumble through Grizzly Gulch abroad a speeding mine train. We even went backwards! The crack sound effect made it more awesome.
Mystic Point
Mystic Manor is the best indoor ride! I love it soooo much! Although I'm not familiar with the story of Lord Henry Mystic and Albert the monkey (they exclusively open for Hong Kong Disneyland only since 2013). First, we entered the gallery, then we rode the Mystic Magneto-Electric Carriage, they took us from gallery to gallery, full of awesome effects. You can check it on youtube.
- Disney Parade and Fireworks -

Main Street, USA at night
Everyone gathered here, resting and waiting for the parade. I was hungry at that time so I bought a snack for us. It's expensive there T_T, we had to wait to get a proper dinner.

Buzz Lightyear! from Toy Story at the Night Parade
The parade was so awesome. This is one of my favorite shot. Buzz Lightyear...! Too bad we didn't manage to see the fireworks because it's late, we're hungry so we avoided the crowd, and went back asap. We had dinner under the hotel I stayed and had a good rest.

Thanks for reading and see you!
