Rayjin Teppanyaki Dining-Bar isn't a new place anymore, it has unique concept. It's not really a restaurant because the place is small, only has 12 chairs with bar concept while the chef cooking and prepare the food in front of you.
They open at 6pm and you can only book at 2 different time, either at 6pm or 8pm. Feels so exclusive, right! It's mostly full everyday so you almost can't eat there unless you book first, and they provide online booking system at their website. It's the most convenient and easiest way to book. I booked 2-3 days before so I could get a place. Sometimes it's all booked because of a private party, so better plan it then.
The entrance and the sign is small, hardly noticeable. I often passing by but missed it a few times, to make it easier, it is beside
dahana. They share the parking lot across the restaurant so it's no problem if you bring car. Above
rayjin, there's also a sushi bar named
kajin (how similar their name is), would love to go there someday. They have same seating concept and I've read good reviews about
kajin too.
Once I entered
rayjin, I love the atmosphere. It feels homey and warm because the space isn't big and we're the first customer at that time. The staffs surprised us with their loud welcoming message in Japanese while they bowed down.
They are very funny! They speak Japanese to each other and every minute, they shout out something in Japanese, makes the dining experience more fun.
What I like the most is, they give your table a unique table sign, named by your name, written in handmade Japanese font. Psst.. you can also request to make more for you or your friend.
I got the best table, in the middle, right in front of the teppanyaki cooking pan. They don't have many choices in their menu, only 2 sides of an A4 sized board. So don't need a long time to order and cook.

| My dinner! |
 |
| Edamame (IDR 12K) |
A bowl of edamame snack, served cold with salt, it feels light and refreshing. Great as starter.
 |
| Teppan Garlic Rice (IDR 18K) |
Love the rice! It's more like fried rice with garlic sauce, tastes yummy and great combo with the teppanyaki menu.
 |
| Pork Belly Syogayaki (IDR 69K) |
The pork is delicious! Not so soft, but I like the taste. The sauce is good. The onion is really fresh. I didn't try other teppanyaki, but I think the taste isn't so much different because they use the same sauce when cooking most of the menu.
 |
| Okonomiyaki (IDR 50K) |
It's good but not so wow. Just ordinary okonomiyaki with lots of cabbage and shrimp inside, topped by okonomiyaki sauce and Japanese mayo.
 |
| Macha Milkshake (IDR 28K), Ice Peppermint Tea |
The milkshake is good, a little bit too light for me. I like strong macha taste which is a bit bitter. The peppermint tea is a refreshing one, liquid sugar provided in case if you want it sweet.
 |
| Macha Ogura Siratama (IDR 28K) |
Love love love the dessert! The green tea ice cream is tremendous, really good combined with mochi and red bean paste. I love the representation of the plate and spoon, feels traditional yet modern as the same time.
Overall, I love my dining experience here. The atmosphere is good, the foot is great. Everything is wonderful. Recommended if you want to try different and more intimate Japanese dinner. They don't provide many choices but it is what make them unique and fast. The price is medium high but still worth the price.
Would love to try the kajin next time, too!
