Hola! Back with The Balm, again. I posted The Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette earlier and along with that purchase, I also bought the Time Balm Concealer when they were on sale. So I got it around IDR 150.000, no sale no buy, right!

I got this addicted with concealer. I always put on them on my dark circle and chin. My chin is in bad condition right now, there are spots and pimples which just never leave. T___T. So I have concealer in any form, under eye brightening with twisted pen applicator, liquid, stick, and now to complete the range, I have the jar concealer. Yeah, always use them.

I'm sorry but this kind packaging is just got me euwh... Really disappointed. The box looks cheapy, it's not hard at all and the printing isn't good. The transparent jar is made from thin plastic, more like sample packaging with 'time balm' printing on it that can be removed by scratch.
On the back there's information from ingredients, description and other details.
What's inside?
The puff isn't really useful. It has no separator and feels just like an ordinary sponge. The round shape is a little bit uneven. I prefer using brush or hand to dab.
I choose the color light, it suits my skintone well. It is the 2nd lightest shade. The texture is solid, not really creamy but has good coverage. So it will last for a long time. I don't really like the smell, it feels really artificial. I don't know how to describe, but it is not really noticeable unless I smell it so closely.
Swatch
The left one is the swatch, you can see that it is not really creamy but pretty pigmented and after I blend it, it blends well and gives powdery or velvety finish. The color can blends into my skin but I think this is not a perfect match for my Asian yellow skin, it is more pinkish undertone.
I tried to cover my acnes, see my chin.. There are always pimples. It can cover a little bit, it is a bit hard to blend and leaves dry patches. My skin is normal dry so maybe I suit better with creamier formula but to make it works, I have to make sure that I moist my face at first and use it just with light dab.
Pros:
+ The texture is solid and pigmented so it will last for a long time
+ Good coverage
Cons:
- Cheap packaging
- The sponge not really helpful
- Weird smell
- Not moisturizing
- Pricey
Overall:
I like the coverage, but don't really like the formula, it's a bit drying. Maybe people with oily skin will suit better. I won't repurchase it because it is pricey, especially when it's not on sale. I want to use creamier formula. Still.. on a long way to find the HG concealer.

ReplyDeleteKynya lbih cocok ama oily skin ya.. Kl mo pake ini mukaku harus lembab hbs pake moisturizer/bb cream langsung pk ini. Kl ga agak susah ngeblendnya. Tp coveragenya okelah.. :D

ReplyDeleteYes, it is somehow dry especially to dry skin. And it can't be used too much or it will give patches. Maybe I prefer liquid :D

Iya nih.. Too pricey on this one. Tp coveragenya ok. Malah bagusan utk oily skin. Aq normal dry. Kl g pake pelembab yg msih baru pake bs dry patches :(. Mknya prefer creamier formula
